National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) head office building is now using solar based energy through a 15kw solar panel system. On March 1, 2017 solar system was successfully commissioned which on average is replacing 60kwh of electricity from grid on daily basis.
In order to promote renewable energy, the NEPRA has already notified net entering regulations which allow consumers to install renewable energy based systems to produce electricity which may be sold to the DISCOs. The NEPRA also planned to connect its in-house solar system to the IESCO network to reduce its dependence on one electricity from grid, which would in turn help reduce load demand on the national grid.-PR
