A major pipeline supplying water to Karachi burst on Thursday sparking fear of an imminent water crisis in the city as 14 lakh gallons of water could not be supplied to the city. According to the sources, the sudden shutdown at Dhabeji Pumping Station by the K-Electric caused the pipeline-5 to burst.
Water Board immediately stopped water supply to Karachi from the affected pipeline. The supply of water will continue with the help of other pipelines, the Water Board said. According to Water Board spokesman, the sources said the concerned officers reached on the spot, and machinery and crew have also been dispatched toward the site.
