Defaulting vehicles to be taxed: road checking campaign to be launched
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that road checking campaign will be launched in current month to nab tax defaulting vehicles Presiding over a meeting, he advised the owners of the vehicles to pay their due taxes to avoid any unpleasant situation in future and keep the relevant documents in their vehicles.
He directed the director general to constitute special teams to ensure the drive against tax defaulting vehicles a success and not to bow before any pressure during road checking campaign.
Chawla further directed to also launch an awareness campaign for defaulting vehicles in order to provide a fair chance for them to deposit their due taxes, adding that the assigned checking teams must be polite and humble during the campaign and must work within the limits of the law.
Meanwhile the minister for ET&NC added, ' that the deceased quota for the employees of excise and taxation department should be implemented in letter and spirit and there should be no violation of the Court orders'.
The DG Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui briefed the meeting that except Karachi and Larkana divisions, in all other divisions the deceased quota policy had been completed and in remaining divisions the work was in progress.
