Former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik has on Saturday said that he or his brother never met the model Ayyan Ali. He said that he would quit politics if Ayyan Ali said on oath that she ever met him or his brother.
Talking to a private television channel, Rehman Malik said that two of former Pakistan People's Party (PPP) prime ministers were still presenting themselves before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while former Petroleum Minister was in jail over the allegations of financing terrorism but the current government didn't have to face such situation.
Malik said that the entire Ayyan Ali case was a made up case against PPP. "Ayyan Ali is now free. Just go and interview her, put Quran in her hand and ask her if she has ever met Rehman Malik, does she have any links with Rehman Malik or his brother Khalid Malik; if she says this on record, I will leave politics, not because we didn't have any links with her but because the way the campaign was run against us", he said.
Rehman Malik also discussed the security crisis in Pakistan during the show. He said that al-Qaeda, ISIS, TTP all originated from the same thing. He also discussed in detail the ISI-Interior Ministry fiasco from 2008-9.
