Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment on Friday confirmed nominations of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Chief Justice Sindh High Court, as judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The meeting of the committee was held here in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of MNA Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari. The committee members considered the recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for appointment of judge in the Supreme Court of Pakistan and appointment of Chief Justice Sindh High Court in its meeting held on February 21, 2017.
After having a detailed discussion in the committee meeting, the members confirmed the nomination of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah as judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The committee members also confirmed nomination of Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh for appointment as Chief Justice Sindh High Court against the anticipated vacancy which will fall vacant on elevation of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah to the Supreme Court. The meeting was attended by Senators Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Farooq H Naek and Muhammad Javed Abbasi, MNA Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk and secretary Senate.
