The Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) former chairman and executive committee member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malik Tahir Javed, has urged the Punjab Chief Minister to ensure that plots purchased for industrial purposes should not be used for profiteering.
Talking to Business Recorder, Javed said that plots purchased for industrial purposes should be used for only industrialisation so that industrial sector could be flourished in the province. He said the provincial Industries minister had also noticed that holding plots for profit purpose was the main hurdle in employment generation. He said the government has repeatedly ordered the owners to use plots for setting up of industrial units only instead of selling to pocket the profit following price hike. He urged the chief minister to take action against such owners who failed to set up industry within the stipulated time period.
