Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser said on Wednesday that a delegation comprising the provincial ministers will visit Lahore on Monday to meet the affected Pakhtuns and listen to their grievances. Addressing a news conference along with Provincial Minister for Drinking Water, Shah Farman and Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Mohammad Atif, the Speaker KP Assembly termed the silence of the federal and Punjab governments over the resolution of the provincial assembly, against ethnic profiling of Pakhtuns in Punjab.
He said the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa condemns the discriminatory treatment with Pakhtun community in Punjab and going to consult the parliamentary leaders of the provincial assembly and prepare unanimous line of action in this regard.
The Speaker KP assembly asked the government of Punjab to review the treatment being meted out to Pakhtuns. He said militancy and terrorism in KP and FATA forced Pakhtuns to move Punjab to earn livelihood for their children. He said the constitution of Pakistan guarantees protection to life and property of the citizens and free movement.
