Khyber Pakhtunkhwa upset Pakistan Wapda in straight set in the ongoing Chief Minister National Under-23 Volleyball Championship being played here at PSB Coaching Center on Tuesday. The super-fit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa players did not give much chance to Pakistan Army team to strike back and marched into victory in the straight sets by recording first upset of the Championship. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the first set by 25-23 in a closely contestant encounter. The set was tied at 6-6, 8-8, 11-11, 12-12, 17-17, 18-18, 19-19, 20-20, 21-21, 22-22 and 23-all before winning the set.
In the second set, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took the second set very easily and did not give time to Army players to adjust according to the situation. Army players did some resistance in the first and even took the lead of 1-7, 11-18 but this time Khyber Pakhtunkhwa first tied the tally at 7-7, 11-11 and 18-18 before winning the set at 25-19.
In the morning matches Pakistan Army defeated Punjab by 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14 in another one-sided match while Punjab recorded victory against Sindh in straight sets, the score was 25-15, 25-16 and 25-17.
Balochistan defeated FATA by 3-0, the score was 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14. Balochistan fully dominated and did not give much time to FATA to stage a comeback. In the last match of the days Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Balochistan by 3-0, the score was 25-10, 25-17 and 25-10. Abdur Rashid, Wajid Kamal, Muhammad Arif, Sabtain and Muhammad Arif and Sumaira Saloni supervised the matches.
