With only four days left in Pakistan Super League final in Lahore, the excitement of people seems to be at its peak but cricket fans are running from pillar to post to get tickets for watching the mega event. A goods number of young people thronged the Gadaffi stadium to get tickets but returned empty handed.
The sources in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that online sale of tickets is under way but its sale at designated places will start from Wednesday. With security measures in place and cricket pitch levelled, Gaddafi Stadium is ready for the final of Pakistan Super League, the sources added.
Army troops, Rangers and police personnel on Tuesday review the security arrangements being made ahead of the PSL final on March 5 while meeting the cricket officials at Gadaffi Stadium. PSL Chairman Najam Sethi was also present in the meeting besides other members of PSL management.
Police and army contingents are to be deployed in and around the stadium while no parking would be allowed within 400 yards of the venue. Five-tier security - almost equal to that extended to heads of states - will be accorded to all players during their travel to and from the stadium, the sources said.
Additionally, biometric identification of all those coming to the stadium to watch the match would be mandatory and no one will be allowed entry without showing his or her Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC). Barbed wires have been placed on the boundary of the stadium and CCTV cameras have also been installed there.
