MoW&P asked to submit report about Wapda dues against Sindh government
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Government Assurances ordered the Ministry of Water and Power (MoW&P) to submit its report about the outstanding dues of Wapda against Sindh government and details of its settlement. The committee also showed serious resentment over the absence of the secretary water & power in the meeting and directed him to attend the next meeting of the committee in person.
The committee met with Muhammad Afzal Khan Khanan Khail in the chair here at the Parliament Lodges on Tuesday. The committee discussed the outstanding dues of the provinces and load shedding in the country. The committee also sought details of record of load shedding management in rural areas of Sindh. The committee directed to call for reports of assurances given by different ministers in the House from time to time. The bureaucracy of Ministry of Water and Power needs to improve its efficiency, said the committee and sought the implementation report of 562 assurances made in the House.
The committee was informed that despite the notice and three reminders the brief by the ministry could not reach timely. Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail, Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Chaudhry Muhammad Munir Azhar, Syed Sajid Mehdi, Malik Ibrar Ahmed and Rajab Ali Khan Baloch attended the meeting. In addition, mover Shagufta Jumani, MNA, was also present in the meeting.
