Pakistan and China have agreed to strengthen existing ties and further enhance exchanges in the field of auditing to learn from each other's best practices. Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP), Rana Assad Amin, is on official visit to China met Liu Jiayi, the Auditor General of China, at CNAO Headquarters.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen existing ties and further enhance exchanges in the field of auditing to learn from each other's best practices. The two sides further agreed to not only expand bilateral capacity building programs, but also to enhance co-operation at multilateral forums such as the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). An MoU was also signed on the occasion.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Liu emphasised the need for closer collaboration between the audit institutions of Pakistan and China, including at international forums. Mr Liu said that China has always supported Pakistan in line with President Xi Jinping's vision of having good neighbourly relations based on sincerity, inclusiveness and friendship.
The Auditor General of Pakistan thanked his Chinese counterpart and expressed hope that his visit will further strengthen bilateral co-operation between the two sides. He further extended an invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan. Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khalid welcomed the signing of the MoU, describing it as yet another manifestation of ever-expanding ties in mutually beneficial domains between the two countries.
