Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Monday submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat on misuse of powers and negation of merit by the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources in allocation of new gas connections in various constituencies.
The calling attention notice was submitted by PPPP MNAs including Sayed Naveed Qamar, Shazia Marri, Imran Zafar, Yousuf Talpur, Mir Aijaz Jakhrani, Abdul Sattar Bachani, Sayed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and Shagufta Jummani in the National Assembly Secretariat. According to the calling attention notice, "We the undersigned would like to invite the attention of Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources towards the misuse of powers and negation of merit in the allocation of new gas connections in various constituencies as revealed by the SNGPL documents.
"As per the documents, new gas connections were mostly awarded in constituencies represented by the ruling party or its affiliates. Such biased and prejudiced attitude of the government is highly condemnable and warrants instant action. "This is a serious matter and needs to be discussed immediately on the floor of the House."
