Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has warned of agitation of public if the K-Electric and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) failed to resolve longstanding issues of people. He was addressing to a local 'Jirga' of residents in Bihar Colony area of Lyari Town. He said that both the KE and NADRA have been irking the Karachities for several years.
He charged that the KE has been looting people through bogus billings, overcharging, super-fast meters and unannounced power outages.
Similarly, he added that ineligibility of NADRA has also tormented the citizens of Karachi. It has been said for more than a year that mega centres of NADRA would be established in Karachi but there is nothing on ground.
He also criticised the local government for failing to serve the citizens. He said that 60,000 plus employees of local bodies' institutions get salaries but a few of them actually work.
The JI leader further said that the politics of hate has given nothing to Karachi and there is no more room for hate politics in this city.
He criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for ruining the city of lights.
