Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting, here Sunday. During the meeting, progress on 100-bed hospital project as well as improvement of public health facilities was reviewed. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that improvement in healthcare facilities is top priority of the government and added that steps and result oriented efforts are bearing fruit.
Projects of provision of latest healthcare facilities to the people are being completed speedily, he added. He said that hospitals equipped with latest facilities have been constructed in different cities, while work is in progress on different projects of construction of hospitals. Government Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital in Muzaffargarh is providing quality treatment facilities to the people and Punjab government is working on a mega project of expansion of this hospital, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said that construction work on 100-bed modern hospital in Manawan is in progress speedily. He said that completion of this project will result in provision of diagnostic and quality medical facilities to the masses. He said that this hospital would be high-grade institution with regard to its construction, healthcare facilities and provision of other services.
The Chief Minister said that best doctors, nurses and paramedical staff should be selected for this hospital and horticulture should also be done in the hospital.
MNA Sohail Shaukat Butt and MPA Rana Tajamal Hussain said that 100-bed hospital in Manawan is the best gift of Punjab government for the people, as construction of 100-bed hospital has resolved 70-year old issue of the people.
Provincial Minister Kh. Imran Nazir, Members National and Provincial Assembly, Secretary C&W, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Chairman Indus Regional Board Mian Muhammad Ahsan, Commissioner and DC Lahore and concerned officials attended the meeting while Chief Executive Officer of Indus Hospital Dr Abdul Bari Khan participated in the meeting through video link from Dubai.
