LPG Association of Pakistan (LPGAP) has expressed its concern over the notification issued by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for setting Rs 910 consumer price of LPG inclusive of all taxes and charges. The association's spokesman on Saturday said that this unrealistic price would choke the LPG industry to death thus putting the consumer to face hardships. The Association deeply regrets the announcement made by OGRA without realizing the impact it will have on the consumers and the industry itself.
The Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Resources has further aggravated the situation by pressurizing the authority to issue notification without incorporating the interest of the stake holders who deliver LPG to masses. This uncalled for action by the regulator will not only bring the industry to halt but will also cause financial hardship to over 500,000 persons involved in this business.
