Criminal activities on the rise in Islamabad

The criminal elements are on rampage in the federal capital as they struck at 12 separate places during the last seven days and made off with cash, gold ornaments and vehicles. According to data collected by Business Recorder, various police stations of the city registered six cases of robbery, five cases of auto theft, two cases of kidnapping, one case of murder and 10 cases of dishonoured cheques.
During the last week, Aabpara police station registered five cases of dishonoured cheques and one case each of robbery and kidnapping. A victim Sajid Saleem lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that some unknown thieves stole a laptop and some other valuables from his house. In another incident, Muhammad Zakir informed the same police station that unknown persons kidnapped his daughter.
During the period under review, Ramna police station registered two cases of dishonoured cheques and one case each of robbery and kidnapping. One Javed Akhtar registered a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown persons kidnapped his son Abdullah Javed. In another incident, some unidentified robbers broke into the house of Muhammad Iqbal belonging to sector G-9/4 and looted gold ornaments cash. During the period, Shalimar and Koral police stations registered one case each of robbery, while Lohi Bher, Industrial Area, Bhara Kahu and Sabzi Mandi police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
