Karachi Mayor allowed to travel abroad

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday permitted Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar to fly abroad and ordered authorities to return his passport over surety bond of Rs 20 lacs. According to details, the court heard a plea filed by Waseem Akhtar seeking permission to travel abroad on an official visit. He also requested the court to return his passport which was accepted by the judge.
Talking to media outside the court, Waseem Akhtar said that Sindh government is working on mega projects without involving the mayor. He said that the local government has failed to construct a single hospital in Sehwan Sharif despite availability of funds.
