As many as 10 people lost their precious lives and 512 seriously injured in the total 639 road traffic accidents (RTA) in 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours .It is disclosed by the sources in Rescue 1122 Emergency services here on Thursday. However, some 232 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams.
According to the data, 274 drivers, 13 underage drivers, 104 pedestrians and 376 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes. The statistics show that 116 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 114 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 59 RTAs in Faisalabad with 79 victims and comes Gujranwala with 44 RTAs and 49 victims.
The details show that total 754 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 605 males & 149 females, while age groups of the victims show that 128 were under 18 year of age, 445 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 181 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
