The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday directed secretary local government to appear before it to file comments along with detailed progress report on pace of three renovation projects of roads in different areas including the University Road. While hearing a petition alleging that the development work is being carried out in woefully slow manner, the SHC bench, headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar, once again issued notices to advocate general Sindh, DIG traffic, chief secretary, commissioner Karachi and deputy commissioner East directing them to file their respective comments by March 9.
While summoning the secretary local government, the court directed him to furnish a detailed progress report on the pace of construction and contracts awarded in this regard. All the respondents and provincial law officer were directed to submit their replies on 22nd February but they failed to do so despite the fact that they were served the court's notices duly.
