Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing, Durdana Siddiqui has said that appropriate and effective use of media can helpful to end the distortions of society and a modest media is the surety of pure and strong society. While addressing the last day of successful 10-day "Social Reform Campaign", she said that the promotion of positive and purposeful thoughts and ideologies is important for the guidance of the society.
She informed that keeping in view the importance of media; Jamaat-I-Islami Women's Wing successfully conducted the Social Reform campaign from 10th to 20th Feb, 2017. Specially targeting the media role, many seminars, workshops, online lectures, discussions and other effective programs were held all over Pakistan during the campaign entitled as "Modest Media - Strong Society", she added.
Durdana said that through E-mails and phone calls, the responsible persons of PEMRA, media owners and advertisement companies were requested to pay attention towards the current situation of media and its positive role. During the campaign, reporters and influential personalities of different departments were contacted especially. Articles, columns and letters to the editors were published in the renowned newspapers of the country about the positive role and the appropriate use of media. Apart from that, the campaign was launched on social media and many blogs, surveys and trends were started highlighting the importance of campaign, she mentioned.
