Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that CPEC brought diverse opportunities for the youth of the province and there was dire need of trained manpower in future.
"Our government is working on quality education. Campuses at district level are being established and autonomy to the colleges is being considered," Khattak said talking to the vice chancellors of Peshawar University and Islamia College University and other delegations who called on him at the Chief Minister Secretariat, here. KP minister Mian Jamsheddin Kaka Khel and advisor to CM Mushtaq Ghani were also present.
KP chief minister said it is responsibility of the institutions to plan professional and quality education for the future requirements of the province. He said his government was working on quality education right from the day one. He said that it was the PTI's manifesto and his vision to provide equal opportunities of education and development to all. He said his government was spending more on the human resource development to enable people of KP to stand on their own feet and plan their future on their own becoming the genuine stakeholder in the future decision-making process of the country.
"Despite advantages, diverse seasons and the best brains, this region could not get developed due to the flaws in the system, inaction by the past rulers and the inefficient institutions," he said, adding that various regions of the province had different advantages that could become base for development of entire province. He said that KP now has the potential to integrate the whole region in the backdrop of CPEC. He stressed on all to be ready for the future challenges and prepare trained manpower.
Pervez Khattak said his government has already set its targets and it has the potentials to move forward and lead the province towards sustained economic growth. He said his government gave unmatched incentives to the investors and it also stopped corruption and revamped the institutions.
"Now the investors have confidence in the system and they are investing billions of rupees in the province," he said, adding that education, training and professional education were the key to success. He said his government wanted to produce quality manpower to meet the future needs of the province hence disbursed unprecedented amount in this connection. KP CM said his government laid down the foundation for good and transparent governance that will bring stability to the economic activities of the province.
