Arrangements finalized for SSC exams: minister

Provincial Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani has said that all arrangements have been finalized to hold secondary school annual examinations 2017. The exams, which would commence from March 1st, would be held according to schedule in a transparent and organized manner. For this purpose, fool proof security arrangements would be made around examination centers through police so that the students could sit in exams with peace of mind.
He said this while presiding over a meeting at Lahore board on Saturday. The chairmen of nine educational boards, along with representatives of higher education department, attended the meeting. The meeting held a detailed review of the arrangements made for holding matriculation exams. Chairmen informed the minister about their boards' arrangements.
The meeting was told that comprehensive security plan has been devised to conduct exams. In order to maintain full security, the exams would be held under the supervision of the police department. The meeting noted with satisfaction that invigilators and the staff have been assigned duties and they have also been given necessary training about holding exam.
The meeting was further told that district level control rooms would be set up to monitor the exam situation as well as to maintain security of students and staff. Similarly, mobile teams of educational boards would also conduct surprise visits to ensure transparency.
