Jhagra for quality healthcare facilities in Fata

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has desired to vigorously confine the ongoing concrete efforts for provision of quality health care facilities to the people of FATA and to make this possible, the programme of categorisation of hospitals need to be materialised at the earliest.
This he stated while presiding over a high level meeting at Governor's House, Peshawar on Thursday, wherein pace of progress on the health sector related projects came under discussion.
Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Secretary Social Sector Department FATA, Director Health FATA and other relevant officials were present on this occasion.
The meeting approved a proposal to give autonomous status to Sholam Model Hospital in South Waziristan according to which it will work on public-private partnership basis.
While referring to various proposals for ensuring quality healthcare facilities, the Governor said that now, when re-construction process is in progress, serious efforts are also required to focus on provision of quality health care facilities.
He further desired to ensure availability of specialist doctors, medicines and other allied facilities in the hospitals.
"There must be utmost effort to give top priority for ensuring provision of healthcare facilities to the people at their door steps and no hurdles should be allowed to come across, in this respect,"
