Export of readymade garments increased to $1.101 billion, up by 6 percent in the first 6 months of this fiscal year, official figures say. Increase in export of garment textile stands at over $61 million in July-December 2017 from $1.040 billion in July-December 2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. In term of quantity, the country exported 15.615 million dozens of garment textiles during July-December 2017 from 15.373 million dozens in July-December 2016, up by just two percent or 242,000 dozens.
In December 2016, the country's export of garment textiles grew by 9.23 percent or $17.829 million to $211.123 million from $193.294 million in December 2015. Export of garment textiles reached 2.897 million dozens in December 2016 from 2.775 million dozens in December 2015, up by 4.40 percent or 122,000 dozens.
