Law and order: Terrorist attack in Punjab exposes tall claims: Siraj
Emir Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq Tuesday said that a recent major terrorist attack in the capital of Punjab has exposed the failure of incumbent government in the protection of life and property of masses. Talking to the media persons outside the Parliament House, Senator Sirajul Haq said that Lahore terror incident has negated the government's claims about elimination of terrorism from the country. He said though the situating is beyond the control of government, it warrants the government to take the nation into confidence on the matter.
He said that repeated terrorist attacks imply that law and order is not the priority of government, saying all the ministers are found busy in the defence of the ruling family. To a question on the US refusal to issue visa to Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the JI emir said that Donald Trump's policies would soon usher in the downfall of the United States as Soviet leader Gorbachev's policies led to the downfall of the Soviet Union.
On the issue of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Haq said that there is consensus among the tribes over merger of tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and on the abolition of the FCR. He said the government should not miss this golden opportunity of the merger, saying Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has a God-given opportunity to announce the merger of FATA into KPK with the consent of 10 million tribal people.
