The parents of 8,781 children in district Peshawar have refused the administering IPV (inactivated polio vaccine) to their children and the district administration had warned them of taking against them under 3 MPO. This was stated by Acting Deputy Commissioner, Peshawar, Shahid Mahmood while presiding over a meeting regarding polio here in his office on Tuesday. The officials of different departments including Health department attended the meeting.
The DC was told that children in most areas of Peshawar have been injected IPV while administering polio vaccines in the remaining areas was in progress. During the current anti-polio campaign, he said that so far 201,781 children had been administered IPV while the parents of 8781 children are refusing the administering of IPV. The ADC has requested all parents for extending full cooperation to polio teams to protect their children from the crippling disease and let administer IPV to them.
