Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has nabbed two members of an organized gang who were involved to trap innocent people through phone calls telling that they have won a lottery and further cheated them by receiving advance cash payment.
Following the directions SSP Islamabad, SP Investigation Muhammad Ilyas constituted a team headed by DSP/CIA Bashir Noon to ensure arrest of fraudsters.
According to police spokesman, this team including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azam and Constables Zulfiqar Ali and Noor Nabi nabbed two gang members of an organized gang involved in looting people by cheating them through phone call telling them that they have won cash reward through a lucky draw.
SIU team also recovered cash amount Rs 500,000 from these fraudsters identified as Habib Ahmed s/o Abdul Sattar R/O Chak no 40 Shumali Pathan wala Tehsil and District Sargodha and Yousuf s/o Naik Muhammad R/O Chak no 40 shumali Pathan wala tehsil and district Sargodha.
During initial investigation, they revealed to make a phone call on June 27, 2106 to Ms. Mahjabeen D/O Bashir Ahmed sector -8/1 Islamabad and told her about winning a lottery. They received Rs 525,000 for which case no 362/16 dated 26-09-16 US 420/34 PPC PS I/A was registered.
It is pertinent to mention that these busted gang members are an expert in speaking Arabic language and posed as gulf country national.
These gang members have revealed numerous fraud activities in various cities of Pakistan for which record from concerned police stations have been demanded. Further investigation is underway.
