Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Saturday called on Indian Foreign Secretary J Shankar and exchanged views on bilateral relations and resumption of talks. Aaj News reported that the meeting between Pakistan's high commissioner and Indian foreign secretary lasted for one hour. The Government of Pakistan was informed about the meeting.
Officially of the two neighbouring nuclear states remained silent on the said meeting. Reports said that the two sides would move forward after the Indian states elections in UP and Punjab and it is hoped that interaction would help reduce tension between the two countries.
