US wheat futures were narrowly higher on Wednesday, following bigger gains in soybeans and corn on positioning ahead of a US Department of Agriculture monthly supply and demand report due on Thursday, traders said. Analysts polled by Reuters expected USDA to show roughly unchanged US and global wheat stockpiles.
Most-active CBOT wheat gained for the second straight session but remained below last week's multi-month highs. European wheat futures hit four-month highs amid hopes losses in the euro currency would entice export demand. Russian exports of wheat increased to 25.3 million tonnes in 2016 from 21.2 million tonnes a year ago, official customs data showed.
