The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the high-ups of the SME Bank to visit the Lahore Chamber to address the reservations of small and medium enterprises. While talking to a delegation of small and medium enterprises on Thursday, the LCCI Acting President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan lamented that despite repeated invitations, the SME Bank's president and chief executive Ihsan-ul-Haq Khan is reluctant to visit the Lahore Chamber that represents the major part of small and medium enterprise.
The Bank's high-ups should be well aware of the importance of the business community of Lahore, he said. Lahore Chamber was the first chamber that had opposed the privatization of SME Bank but its president is giving cold shoulder and turning down the invitations of visit from the business community of Lahore, he added.
"Such bureaucratic attitude is one of the biggest reasons of the ills of Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) therefore government in general and Federal Finance Minister in particular should take notice of the situation: he maintained. The LCCI Acting President said that leadership of SME Bank should adopt friendly approach towards the business community. He urged the SME Bank's president Ihsan-ul-Haq Khan to visit the Lahore Chamber at the earliest so that a joint strategy could be evolved for SME sector of the country.
