Mohyuddin A. Khan is a former first class cricketer. Left Arm all Rounder. His career started in 1975 and spanned over 16 years. Mohyuddin has 200 First Class wickets to his credit. He also played in English county leagues. He shared his candid views on PSL-2
The first thing that comes to my mind when I look at the PSL is the number of teams. I think, there should at least be eight teams in the PSL. I think it is a good platform to entice individual cricketers to come to Pakistan. It is a smart strategy to arrange the PSL final in Pakistan. This will allow foreign players to come to Pakistan and see the reality.
I think PSL requires a little bit more fanfare, more excitement and more marketing. T-20 leagues are different in a way that you are not targeting test playing nations, but rather targeting individuals from all over the world. This could surely help bring international cricket back to Pakistan.
The Peshawar Zalmi team looks to be very well balanced for this season. Zalmi seems much more diversified and talented, than other teams in the PSL.
To be honest, I do not think that the PSL could help bring local talent up, because, in my humble opinion, it is not cricket. It is a festival, fanfare and call it any other name, but cricket. Yes, it can groom talent specifically for T-20. But do not expect PSL to produce long format cricketers for Pakistan.
