The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in its endeavour to check sale of adulterated and unhygienic milk in the province on Tuesday checked the milk carrying vehicles at entry and exit points of different cities and tested 55,000 liters of milk. The Authority's field teams destroyed 7,825 liters of unhygienic milk on the spot during this checking.
The Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen himself led the checking drive in Lahore and put up a picket on Saggian Brdige to personally supervise the checking drive. The teams checked whether the milk is adulterated with Urea or other things harmful for human health. According to the information released by the Authority, its teams wasted 3100 liters of milk in Lahore, 1225 liters in Faisalabad and 890 liters in Rawalpindi.
