While condemning the crackdown against religious seminaries under the National Action Plan, Deputy Chairman Senate and Jamiate Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Central Secretary General, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that religious seminaries is being targeted in grab of NAP, adding that its implementation was also biased.
Talking to media persons at press club here on Tuesday, he said JUI-F had backed the National Action Plan and establishment of military courts in best national interest. But, he said the so-called NAP didn't implement in its true letter and spirit, rather it used as tool against the 'madarass,' mosques, and arresting 0f notable ulema and religious scholars under forth-scheduled.
It was reported that government sealed a JUI-F seminary, Darul-Uloom Taleem-ul-Quran wa Sunnat, in Tangi, district Charsadda a two-day back. According to local administration, the National Action Plan consideration had necessitated it, while the seminary's Mutawali termed it a political move.
Deputy Speaker said the religious seminaries are place of Islamic teaching, which didn't any link with terrorism. He said that the policy would create unrest and archery, which could not best interest of the country, called for review it. When asked about the Panama leaks, JUI-F leader responded that the issue was subjoined, saying that it would sheer unjust to sheer to debate on such issues which are still under hearing in apex court.
Replying another query of reporters regarding Fata-KP integration, Maulana Ghafoor Haideri said that if the civil society, tribesmen and political parties, were agreed to merger Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, then what was wrong to hold a referendum in tribal region, which was also demanded by JUI-F.
"We didn't hold sword and baton to bring change in tribal region", JUI-F leader. But, he said the opinion of tribal people should not be under estimated. Maulana Ghafoor said the JUI-F is going to organise an international conference, to mark the foundation of the party, in which imminent religious scholars, including Imam Ka'aba, would be participated across the world.
He claimed the conference will change landscape of the country, and its main purpose is also to show our strength in Khyber Pakhtunkwa as well as in the country. He furthermore maintained that the conference will highlight the role of JUI-F, pre and post participation of the country in preaching of Islamic teaching and Islam. He said the Pakistan had been created on name of Islam, there will be no room for secularism and liberalism in the country. He added that JUI-F stance is cleared that it will never allow nurturing secularism in Islamic state of Pakistan.
He said the JUI-F has massive strength in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Balochistan, Sindh, but it was projected by media appropriately. He said the ballot boxes of our party was remained empty on the elections day, while people were lacking strength, and won the elections. He said if the forces were allowed them, we will be also gained a large number of votes in Punjab province.
