IGP orders extraordinary security in Sindh

In the backdrop of separate blasts in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chaman area in Balochistan, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khowaja on Tuesday directed police to further beef security across Sindh province. He instructed the relevant police officials to ensure effective and extraordinary security measures for government and semi-government buildings, offices, residential areas, public places, shopping centres, bachat bazaars, railway stations, air ports, Imambargahs, Madaris, shrines and other religious places in Sindh.
He said that at police station level, patrolling, snap checking and picketing should be ensured at entry and exit points, while intelligence gathering system be made more effective at all levels.
It may be noted that at least two policemen were injured after a bomb blast at police station in Bannu city of KP on Tuesday morning. Two Frontier Corps officials and a civilian were injured in a roadside blast in Boghra Karez in Chaman in Balochistan.
