In protest against attack on former PPP MPA Shaukat Basra in Bahawalnagar and the biased attitude of the Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal, the opposition in the Punjab Assembly boycotted the proceedings on Monday.
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid while speaking on point of order condemned the attack on Shaukat Basra and killing of his secretary. PPP MPA Sardar Shahbuddin said that once again the government has refreshed memories of the Model Town incident. He also said that PML (N) government is not ready to accept criticism.
Law Minister Punjab Rana Sana Ullah while talking to the reporters condemned the incident and said that strict action will be taken against those who were involved in attack on Basra and killing of his secretary. He said that opposition was trying to give this matter a political touch. Rana Sana Ullah introduced Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2017 in the assembly.
While industries minister Sheikh Allauddin resumed discussion on the Annual Report of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) for the year 2012- 13.
