Sherpao supports Fata-KP merger

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Irrigation and Provincial Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Sikandar Khan Sherpao has strongly supported the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Minister said that it was dire hours to end to the division of Pakhtoon nation by merging Fata and KP. He further added that the integration will be a new chapter in the course of history and one that will open the doors of development and success for Pakhtoons and the entire nation.
He was addressing a gathering regarding the preparations to mark the 42nd death anniversary (Barsi) of Hayat Muhmammad Khan Sherpao. On the occasion, he said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will never forget the sacrifices and ideology of Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao and his thoughts are like a beacon for the Pakhtoon nation at this crucial juncture in History.
Sherpao went on to say that brotherly relations with neighbouring Afghanistan are also necessary as both nations have cultural, religious, and historical affinity and Pakhtoons on both sides of the border cannot be separated by a border line.
QWP provincial chief said that it therefore becomes increasingly important for the governments of both the countries that reasonable and appropriate measures be taken to develop bilateral relations by using diplomatic channels as well as ensuring greater co-operation between both the countries in the field of Infrastructure, education, Health and commerce.
The Minister also said that both countries should hold student and cultural exchange programmes in order to rule out the trust deficit that has been created by the enemies of Pakhtoon nation. He demanded that the government of Pakistan should take sincere measures to develop relations with neighboring Afghanistan as it is necessary for establishment of peace in the region.
While addressing the gathering, Sikandar Khan univocally stated that Hayat Sherpao Shaheed was the first political leader of Pakhtoons who believed in strengthening Pakhhtoon nation by demanding their due rights. He added that Hayat Sherpao laid down his life for the same purpose but did not believe in letting down the rights of his people.
Sikandar Khan stated that the ideology of Hayat Sherpao has been a source of encouragement for Pakhtoon nation as a whole and has also provided the founding lines for the political ideology of Qaumi Watan Party. He further added that QWP has always raised voice for the rights of Pakhtoons keeping in view the guidelines of its founding member.
