University of Karachi on Saturday has decided to install CCTV cameras on entrance and exit points for which central control room is being established and is in its final stages. The decision was taken at a high level security meeting which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor KU Professor Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan to discuss the ongoing security situation of the varsity.
According to the security plan, CCTV cameras will be installed on entrance and exit points for which central control room is being established and in its final stages patrolling in the campus premises has also been made more vibrant.
VC Dr Ajmal Khan while addressing the meeting made it clear that there would be no compromise on the security of the varsity and instructed for ensuring fool proof security arrangements in the campus.
It was also decided in the meeting that chief security officer would immediately be appointed for which approval has already been sought by the varsity's syndicate. Security on the entrance and exit points has been tightened up. University administration is also in constant contact with the law enforcement agencies in this regard.
