"ILO appreciates the determined resolve of the new Board of Employers' Federation of Pakistan (EFP) to increase its activities to a higher dimension and to lead from the front in advocating better industrial relations and create a harmonious relationship with the workers". This was stated by Ms Ingrid Christensen, Country Director, ILO Islamabad in a meeting with Majyd Aziz, EFP President, Zaki Ahmed Khan, EFP Vice President and others.
Ms Christensen assured that keeping in view the traditional partnership of ILO with EFP, ILO will continue to extend full co-operation and support to EFP in strengthening its capacity to deliver a wider range of services to members.Earlier, Majyd Aziz thanked ILO for its committed support and presented a 3-year Growth Strategy and a 15-point Business Agenda to achieve the Strategic Action Plan. He also reviewed the existing projects and highlighted the progress. He also stated that EFP would take up and advocate issues that impact employment and industrialization. Ms Ingrid Christensen reiterated the commitment to ensure that ILO will continue to be a strong strategic partner and that her office will be coordinating closer with the three stakeholders, that is, the government, workers and employers.-PR
