Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 119,947 tonnes of cargo comprising 111,996 tonnes of import cargo and 7,951 tonnes of export cargo including 4,370 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 111,996 tonnes comprised of 36,369 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20,118 tonnes of general cargo; 26,809 tonnes of bulk cargo: 15,138 tonnes of DAP; 11,671 tonnes of soyabean meal and 28,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 7,951 tonnes comprised of 7,871 tonnes of containerised cargo and 80 tonnes of general cargo.
As many as 4,370 containers comprising of 2,533 containers import and 1,837 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 719 of 20's and 907 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 142 of 20's and 172 of 40's loaded containers while 377 of 20's and 487 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely OOCL California, Northern Dependant and ABB Vanessa carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessel viz. APL Coral, Al Abdali, MT Karachi, Abbey Road, Dato Lucky and ABB Vanessa carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Nave Andromeda and Kiran Marmara carrying oil tanker and steel respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while four ships namely Al Abdali, Kota Lahir, Venice Bridge and Fareast Hope carrying containers and DAP respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were five vessels viz. Cosco Fukuyama, Vecchio Bridge, Langeoog, Al Yasat-II and Waldy Slaw Orkan carrying containers, rock phosphate and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday while nine vessels viz. CMA CGM Puget, MSC Nicole, Prosper, Lissy Schulte, YM Enlightenment, Hyundai Confidence, MT Shalamar, Bow Flower and Bunga Laurel carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

As many as 4,071 containers comprising of 1,936 containers import and 2,135 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely MT Bahra carrying diesel oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely CV Maipo, MV Wlady Slaw Orkan and MT Al-Rekayyat carrying containers, general cargo and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Savannah, CV Maipo, MV Wlady Slaw Orkan, MV Thalassini, MV Chemroad Quest, MT M Gas, MT Al-Rekayyat and MT Bahra currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, LNG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely CV Cma CGM Tosca, MT Neptune-D and MV Zhen Hua-15 carrying containers, diesel oil and barges respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Tosca, CV Maersk Innoshima, MV Zealand Ariane and MT Harmony-1 carrying containers, clinker and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There was one ship namely MT North Gas carrying LPG due to arrive on Friday.
There are two ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa and MT Clipper Viking are due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely BBC Africa and NYK Furana are due to arrive on Sunday.
