Upto 5,242 kilometres long roads will be completed during current financial year while 275 schemes of water and sanitation are being completed by the end of June this year in the province of Punjab. Likewise, CT scan system and laboratories are being set up through third party in 21 hospitals while 97 development schemes are being completed. Police department is constructing 118 police stations during current fiscal.
This was revealed in a meeting chaired by the central leader of PML-N, Hamza Shahbaz MNA, while reviewing meeting on Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the Punjab for current fiscal.
Hamza directed for timely completion of ongoing development schemes throughout the province. As per directions of Chief Minister, special priority should be given to the districts of South Punjab while implementing the policy of 10-percent additional development projects for the region so that maximum facilities be provided to the people of less developed areas, he added.
Hamza Shahbaz directed that secretaries and Chairman Planning & Development should ensure co-ordinated strategy on rural water supply, Khadim-e-Punjab Programme and other development projects.
He said steps should also be taken for early completion of 98km long Lodhran Khanewal Road. He also directed to complete PC-1 for Muzaffargarh to Dera Ghazi Khan Road and construct Shehbazpur Bridge as soon as possible. He also directed to complete ongoing projects of communication and works in Bahawalpur and south Punjab. He said delay in completion of development projects will not be tolerated, adding that a mechanism should be evolved in which community organisations and elected representatives should be taken on board. Hamza Shahbaz directed to ensure provision of funds for hospital management system saying health sector is among top priorities of the Chief Minister.
