Three LNG-based power plants in public sector would add 2400MW to the national grid by September this year, it has been learnt. Sources said here on Tuesday that those three LNG-based power plants include; Haveli Bahadur Shah LNG-based power plant, Balloki LNG-based power plant, and Bhikki LNG-based power plant.
Haveli Bahadur Shah and Balloki power plants are funded by the government of Pakistan while Bhikki power plant is funded by the Punjab government.
These power plants are expected to achieve full potential of 3600MW by January 2018, the sources said. Bhikki Power plant has already been connected to national grid and is expected to generate first 800MW by March this year.
