A delegation of senior management from Meezan Bank Ltd led by Dr Muhammad Ashraf Usmani, Group Head, Product Development Shariah Compliance, visited Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) on Tuesday. The delegation also included Faisal Iqbal, Executive President & Corporate Head of the Meezan Bank Limited and other ten delegates.
The delegation called on Principal Professor Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan and discussed various areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, the areas of co-operation including technical facilitation by Meezan Bank in curriculum development in the areas of Islamic banking were discussed in detail. It was agreed that Meezan Bank shall support the HCBF in curriculum development and also provide assistance in locating suitable resource persons to conduct these courses. It was also principally agreed that financial support will be provided to the deserving students desirous to pursue education in Islamic banking.
Professor Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan briefed the visitors on the efforts of the college to promote education in the discipline of banking, finance, trade and risk management. He stressed upon the need of collaboration between academia and industry to develop more courses to strengthen specialisation in areas of Islamic Banking. The efforts were appreciated by the visitors. Professor Fida Hussain Bukhari was also present at the meeting.
