A woman was arrested on Monday in Shikarpur on charges of poisoning her husband to death some days ago. Shikarpur police arrested Reema who poisoned her husband Nisar on January 22 who was florist by profession. The couple had tied the knot under vatta-satta marriage around two weeks ago.
According to police, Reema on the night of January 22 allegedly gave poisoned milk to her husband. He was immediately taken to Shikarpur hospital, but was later moved from there due to non-availability of doctors. On January 23, Nisar was shifted to a Sukkur hospital and then referred to a hospital in Karachi, where he died. Nisar's mother, registered an FIR at the Lakhidar police station against her daughter-in-law, Reema, stating that she has poisoned her son to death. Police later raided the girl's house and arrested her.
