The authorities of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has asked all stakeholders to immediately initiate the process of Contingency Planning for the Year 2017.
Provincial administrative departments, federal line agencies, divisional/district administrations and UN/Humanitarian Organisations were asked to finalise their respective draft plans latest by 20th February, 2017 for the purpose of making presentations to the relevant authorities. All Divisional Commissioners have also been asked to supervise the entire process of Contingency Planning within their respective administrative jurisdictions right from planning till implementation and feedback phases, so that supervision, management and resource sharing amongst various agencies of an administrative division could further be improved.
The PDMA said, "this year, all stakeholders need to be more prepared and vigilant as erratic behaviour of weather and unpredictability of climate change phenomena may like to produce any kind of worst situation causing huge damage to life and property".
