Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reviewed progress on southern loop of Lahore Ring Road and other projects continued with the co-operation of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO). He was presiding over a high level meeting here Monday which was also attended by Director General FWO Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal.
The Chief Minister said that completion of southern loop of Lahore Ring Road will expedite the economic and social activity and citizens of Lahore will get better transportation facilities. He said 22.4 KM long southern loop will be open for traffic by June or July and there is need to start work on the southern loop 3 project and immediate step should be taken for this 8 KM long project which will also complete the ring road project.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said modern transportation system plays vital role in the progress because more jobs are created where new roads are constructed as this process boosts economic activity. Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction over the progress on the southern loop.
