A trader from Hangu Tall Bazaar on Sunday blamed the Peshawar police of taking bribe from traders despite following relevant laws. Tall Bazaar traders along with Bangash Students Society held a joint news conference in Peshawar.
The traders alleged that few days earlier a trader Azmat Ali Shah was transporting cloth for business purpose from Firdous to Tall Bazaar when Mattani police stopped him and demanded Rs 10,000 as a bribe. On refusal, the police took his vehicle to police station and also misbehaved with the trader.
Later, Mattani police station SHO Zafar Khattak after taking Rs 3000 as a bribe released the vehicle along with cloth.
Azmat Ali Shah said that a complaint has also been lodged with the police complaint cell and MPA Zia Bangash however no action was taken so far in this regard.
