Spot corn and soyabean basis bids were steady to higher at a port along the Ohio River on Thursday amid minimal farmer sales, said merchants. However, the bulk of bids for both crops at other river terminals, elevators and processors were flat to weaker on ample supplies and much-improved crop prospects in Argentina.
Some softer soyabean bids reflected product shipped by barge to the US Gulf Coast that were mostly steady, but still hovering near recent lows, due to the season reduction in export demand.
