Scuffle in National Assembly

This is apropos aBusiness Recorder news item "Meeting over NA scuffle ends inconclusively" carried by the newspaper yesterday. According to it, a meeting of parliamentary party leaders chaired by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq over Thursday's brawl and scuffle between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers in the lower house of the Parliament ended without taking any concrete decision towards avoiding such incidents in future. However, the parliamentary leaders regretted the Thursday's incident in the National Assembly and discussed a code of conduct and a privilege motion against the prime minister.
Although, heated debates, brawls, scuffles and exchange of insults characterise the proceedings of almost every parliament in the world, the Thursday's proceedings in National Assembly are a strong reflection of the sentiments or emotions of the parties to the Panamagate case. Both PML(N) and PTI are required to show political maturity inside and outside the parliament. Their leadership and workers must exhibit patience and maturity.
