Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has directed DG Excise and Taxation to enhance accountability process within the department and make it more effective with check and balance system for eradication of corruption.
Taking serious notice of the news of receiving extra money in making of vehicles' documents, in their transfer and in verification process as well, Minister has directed the Director General to look into the matter and ensure transparency in documentation, transferring and verification and address all such complaints without any delay.
He said that the objective of introducing online verification system was to eradicate corruption and to facilitate the vehicle owners and strict action would be taken against officials found in any kind of corruption.
He warned and said that he will not tolerate any corruption in the department and it is a prime duty of the officers and staff to make the procedures easy for the people not to create any problem for them.
