Representatives of PTCL on Wednesday briefed the Senate Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication about the TIP school affairs. The committee further said nothing should intervene with the education of the students and more teachers should be provided. MD Pakistan Telecommunication Employe-es Trust (PTET) apprised the committee of the overall budget, functioning and performance of the organisation.
The committee was also informed that the current rate at which the pensions are given is 8% but the committee proposed that it should be increased to 20%. Senator Rubina Khalid questioned about the method used to calculate the liability. The committee directed PTET should present a proper presentation in the next meeting and explain in detail the method which they had used. The meeting was attended by Senators Mufti Abdul Sattar, Najma Hameed, Syed Shibli Faraz, Saeed Ghani and Rubina Khalid, besides senior officers of the ministry and relevant departments.
